The House Dedication Reunion Weekend was an overwhelming success as over 200 alumni and actives came together to dedicate the newly renovated house and celebrate our 100th anniversary at 200 East High Street. The weekend kicked off on Friday evening with a cocktail reception at the Elms Hotel hosted and paid for by Jeff Anderson '75. A Donor Recognition Dessert Reception followed at the house recognizing our top donors and volunteers. On Saturday morning, brothers joined at the house for Tuffy's toasted rolls and coffee followed by the house dedication, ribbon cutting ceremony, and great BBQ for lunch. We capped off our weekend of dedication and celebration by marching and singing from the Beta Campanile to the Armstrong Student Center where we had our Beta Celebration Banquet for nearly 300 alumni, actives and guests. It was an awesome weekend of brotherhood and celebration! Here’s a compilation of just some of the reflections and comments that we have received from our alumni as well as photos and slideshows from the House Dedication Reunion Weekend:
“Brothers- I was touched by the reconnection to all of you which made me realize the indelible impact of our time shared at 200 E High. Although some 43 years have passed the conversation, laughter and brotherhood was as energetic as I originally remember. With this renewed energy comes opportunity and I look forward to hopefully joining you again soon to mentor our new brothers"
“Brothers, this weekend was totally awesome. I really didn't know what to expect but the realization greatly exceeded my expectations. We opened our own time capsules this weekend spilling out memories we hadn't thought about in 40+ years. The new house is nothing short of amazing. The earlier morning discussion about what comes next emphasized the importance of us to help these impressive young men turn the house into a home. I am committed to joining all if you in making that happen"
“Brothers, the anticipation leading up to the weekend was only exceeded by the event itself. I am blessed to have all of you as part of my past and even after a weekend of reminiscing and laughter, I am not satisfied. We need to do it again. I already promised my wife we would. I'm still making up for not including her this time. Take care”
"Brothers, I did not realize how much all of you meant to me until seeing you again this weekend. I have thought of you often over the years and hoped you were well and happy, but there is no substitute for being together to validate the true value and meaning of brotherly love. All God's blessing to you dear Brothers and to those whom we have last along life's journey.”
“This weekend in Oxford with you and all the other Brothers really struck me as to just how fortunate and blessed I was to have pledged Beta with all of you. Quite a special group of men.”
